The organisation I.D.E.A.S (Integracion Democratica Estudiantil Abocada al Servicio) has been founded in 2008 by a group of students. Aim was the opening of a students club. They started to expand their activities since the responsibles recognized, education starts at home. The organisations´ employees and volunteers will sensitize local people, conduct a survey and start some activities to learn about gaps in education and social problems within the community. After that, an information and preventation campaign will be started to get people active. Volunteers will share an accommodation.

Knowledge of Spanish is mandatory. You have to write a motivation letter in Spanish.

Internship in Wales

The project "Interaxions" takes responsibility for those students who have any kind of handicap to be able to integrate into the student life of the university Swansea in Wales. Volunteers will be assisting those students in their everyday living. This will involve tasks such as washing, dressing, cooking and accompanying them on social trips. They will work together in close cooperation with the Discovery Volunteer centre which aims to fight for equality for people with a mental or physical handicap.

The accommodation is in the city centre of Swansea, which offers numeral places to go out. Volunteers will also live close by the coast, where they can swim and explore the nature during hikes. Every Volunteer has his own room. The kitchen and bath will be shared. Volunteers will receive some pocket money.

For this internship knowledge of English is mandatory. Volunteers should not be shy in the contact with disabled people.
